Austin has been named ‘The Best City in America' by dozens of publications in recent years. From the Austin City Limits festival to internationally renowned SXSW to Eeyore's Birthday, the city is always playing host to festival goers with a common interest. 28. Gather up the courage to visit Hippie Hollow, Austin's clothing-optional swimming spot.

The museum is located downtown at 1800 North Congress Avenue. Downtown Austin's crown jewel is the Texas State Capitol, erected in 1888 as a Renaissance Revival building housing the state legislature and governor's offices. These events attract musicians, artists, and visitors from all over the world.

Southern Trail Rides offers group rides for corporations, kids' parties or girls' trips. If your family wants a little more adventure than what Austin has to offer, you can take a short drive to San Antonio and visit Fiesta Texas and Sea World. There's always some kind of musical performance around Austin, with local bars and restaurants often hosting an artist of some kind.

Some of the most notable ones can be found at South Austin Trailer Park & Eatery on 1st Avenue, and The Picnic on Barton Springs Road. You can enjoy free access to Austin-area museums on Austin Museum Day, Sunday, Sept. Not only an expansive park, this 300-acre area is home to live music concerts, various festivals and even a botanical garden.

It's also home to the University of Texas and has surrounded itself with gorgeous parks and lakes where the city's locals take great enjoyment in hiking, running, biking, swimming, boating and many other fun outdoor pursuits. Austin is known as the live music capital of the world and with good reason.

Today, the pool sees thousands of visitors every year. Zilker Park (pictured) is a bit easier and also in central Austin, so it gets my vote today. The epicenter of the "Keep Austin Weird" movement, South Congress Avenue remains a top visitor attraction albeit more and more upscale as the years go by. It's a great place to do some unique shopping, catch a great restaurant, even see live music.

Grab your sunscreen and beach towel and head to Zilker Park, where Official Austin you will find the beautiful Barton Spring Pool - a pool that's unlike any of the pools we're all used to. (Figured we might as well start with a fun, chilled one…😉). There is parallel parking along Baylor Street, though space may be somewhat limited depending on the time.
